Hi there fellow KnK-ers!
As Valentine’s Day is approximately 6 weeks away, I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day Card with you today. It is a Z-Fold Card which has a lace-y edged heart and a choice of 2 sentiments, the cut file is available at the end of this post 🙂
Here is the card I will be making today:
Materials:
- My Zing
- Make the Cut Software
- WorldWin Cardstocks:Â ColorMates Smooth & Silky & CutMates
- Textured Card & Patterned Paper from my stash
- Double Sided Tape, Wet Glue & 3D Foam Pads
Settings:
- Blade = Standard
- Blade Height = 25 post-it notes
- Offset = 0.30
- Speed = 10
- Force = 70
- Passes = 1
Pic 1. Here are all of the pieces needed for today’s card, I sized them in Make the Cut to produce a 5.5 inch square card and cut them with my Zing:
Pic 2. Using Double Sided Tape, I adhered my largest heart piece and the layer for the inside of my card directly to the card base:
Pic 3. Next, the patterned paper pieces are adhered using more tape:
Pic 4. Moving on to my focal point, I glued the smaller heart to the lace-y edged heart and glued my 2 sentiment pieces together. The wet glue allows a little extra time for wiggle room:
Pic 5. I placed some 3d foam pads behind the letters on my sentiment piece and mounted it onto the lace-y heart panel:
Pic 6. Once the focal point is finished, it can be adhered to the card with more 3d foam pads:
Pic 7. Now that all of the pieces are in place, the card can be folded along the perforated lines. The center line is a valley fold as normal, the line running through the heart is a mountain fold which creates the Z shape:
I hope you have enjoyed today’s post, if you would like to see more projects I have created with my Zing and access my free cut files you can find my blog here: www.birdscards.com

I love this cut file Bird but have one question — I have a Cricut and SCAL2, can I use this file?
I believe so, I don’t use SCAL myself but I know others with it use my files, there are 7 formats within the folder provided so you should find at least one that you can use 🙂
