Where did January go? I mean seriously, time is flying by! We’re just over a week from the next holiday and I’m planning (hoping) to get Valentine’s Day alone with my DH! (I’m going to drag him to that Valentine movie every man is desperate to avoid – lol.)
My daughter’s sorority has an upcoming event, and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we decided to dress up some goodies to hand out. These are 12-flavor miniature gummy bears from Albanese Candy Factory in Indiana. If you’ve never had them, but you like gummies, you’d better get online and order some! ACF has repeatedly won awards year over year for innovations in flavor in their gummy product line.
I created the cut file for the candy dressing in Make-the-Cut, and then cut it on the Maxx Air. I cut the file three times to test the design’s fit and form, making adjustments along the way. Once I was happy with it, it was time to crank out some numbers. It took about 3 hours to cut and assemble 30 of these. I must say that I simply ADORE WorldWin CutMates card stock – every cut turned out perfect!
I placed contrasting heart groups on both the front and the back of each.
For a little variety, I also cut some mini bows in red and white. Here is an example:
This is the “guy” version. The ones embellished with ribbon will be the “girl” version.
Any small candy package would fit into these. I used a staple to hold the candy bag in place (ensuring that the staple was placed outside of the candy pocket).
