Peace Out

Confession Time…I only use my Klic-N-Kut Maxx to cut paper and cardstock. It’s the industry I work in and all I that need.  Don’t get me wrong…I admire and appreciate all the clever  amazing things that the other Team KNK Design Team members create, but I’m just a simple paper girl!

With that…I am at no loss in finding new creative things to do with my KNK.  This month my Team KNK submission is a clean 12 x 12 scrapbook layout featuring a large shape (peace sign) and die cut title {my signature style}.  I love this urban-artistic photo and felt a peace sign and cute font would compliment it nicely.  Once I laid out my page I felt it could use more dimension, so I topped the peace sign with 50+ buttons.  This task would have been nearly impossible if I didn’t have the peace sign template to guide me.  My subject is further enhanced by the die cut “Chick” font.  The tiny flowers fit right in to the letters and some are topped with 3mm brads for dimension.   I added some texture to the page with purchased layered flowers, tulle, pom poms and more buttons.

  1. Susan,
This layout is amazing. The time it took to do the peace sign buttons is mind boggling. But this layout is so you. I loved the photo and how all the chosen colors fit the photo. The purple dots were a great choice.
I also love the pom poms. I know how difficult they are to paste down on the page. Your page is so urban cool chic. Thanks for sharing it and your files.

  2. love it! Gonna steal your design once I figure out where I can get some pictures that work with it! HA!! … and are your buttons NAKED?!

  3. Susan, I love the uniqueness of your layouts. No need to apologize for only cutting paper and cardstock. If I had your design skills, that might be all I would cut, too. Your combinations are inspiring.

  4. Really appreciate your use of repetition and reinforcement of your design elements!

  5. Looking for ideas in older posts. Love the layout and the photos are great. Thanks for sharing.
