New Year’s Card

I ran across this card idea on a website and thought it was the perfect card to send to those I missed at Christmas, but I didn’t have the dies that were used. So, how hard could it be to design it on my Maxx who was suffering from holiday neglect!

I was a little nervous never having cut glitter paper, so I cut the numbers out of white paper and used Versamark and Stampin’ Up Iridescent Ice. I think you could also use glitter glue. The balloons were popped up and I just drew the balloon strings. Added a tiny ribbon bow and a little more blink…I was so excited that I didn’t have to go out and buy anything – just put my Maxx to the task! Thanks, Sandy, for giving me the push to use Maxx for my cards!

  1. What a great card! I have cut glitter paper without any problems. I did not notice any glitter on my mat after cutting, and if there had been any my sticky mat would have caught it. But your option worked just as well, and like you said, you didn’t have to buy anything, you used what you had. Thanks for sharing your great design.

    • Thank you so much for this! Graduation cap instead of balloons and graduations cards are done!!!!

  2. Great Card, Sandy! As Carol says, it could be adapted for many occastions. Think wedding, baby shower, special birthday, engagement, what ever. Thanks for sharing your file.

  3. Love the sparkle. I have never cut glitter paper, always concerned about it dulling my blade. But this may make it worth it. Thanks for sharing and the file.

  4. Love the card and design! I think you could probably use that design for an Easter card, just by changing to pastel colors? Maybe?
