Christmas Mitten Card – FREE FILE

Christmas Card Making Time!  I love making cards, and knowing that each one is different from all others. In this case, I created a fat mitten card (so there was lots of real estate to play with) and added different embellishments and textures to make each one unique.

Settings (Maxx Air):

  • Vinyl settings
    • f = 9
    • v = 200
    • passes = 1
  • Cardstock settings:
    • f = 58
    • v = 300
    • passes = 1

  1. Create desired card shape in MTC or KNK Studio
  2. Duplicate shape and Mirror Image it
  3. Place shapes side by side, and align horizontally
  4. Add a rectangle to provide the overlap to weld the shapes together   MittenConstruction
  5. Create fluffy ‘topper’ for the mitten card   Topper
  6. Cut the shapes out
  7. Assemble card with adhesive
  8. Embellish. I used Bird’s HO HO HO card file to create the embellishment on the red mitten card. I cut the top white layer from vinyl since the snowflakes were the size of a nickel.

I did not need to create an embossing line for the card fold because it was very visible due to the angle of the card shape at the top and bottom of the fold.  Mitten2_opt

About Cuttin' with KNK (Michele)

I am the proud mother of 2 grown children, waiting for grandchildren some day. I've been married to my best friend since 1988. I have been crafting since I was a girl - I can't even remember a time when I wasn't creating something, and I've tried nearly everything. I discovered KNK in 2009 and have loved the company and its products ever since. The machines are so versatile and enhance my own creativity. It is rare that I make something without my KNKs.
