Challenge from KNK and Team KNK – in Review

Challenge: There were many wonderful and creative entries for the Summer Solstice KNK/Team KNK Challenge – especially in the paper category. The judges had such a hard time narrowing down their selections! You will understand why as we share the top entries throughout July. Please note that they will appear in alphabetical order.

Today, we have a project  from Angie who uses paper to create beautiful, life-like flowers. Her entry included three fabulous bouquets for Mother’s Day. CHECK THESE OUT!!!

Challenge - Paper Bouquet

In her entry, Angie said:

For mother’s day I made my mom, mother-in-law, and grandma each a bouquet of paper flowers and put them in stained mason jar vases. To make them I cut out a set of petals and leaves for each flower with my zing and used a paper crafting tool to roll the edges. Then I made the center of the flowers with crepe paper and rolled the petals around the center. I used wooden dowels as stems, wrapping them with floral tape to attach the flowers and leaves. Then I made a coordinating “Happy Mother’s day!” tag for each vase. For the tags, I used the print and cut feature for the text, cut a shadow layer, then attached the piece to tags that I cut with the zing. I tied on the tag with some twine and was able to give a gift that everyone loved!

I used cut files from the Make the Cut! Gallery for the mum petals and leaves. I created the shapes for the other petals.

About Cuttin' with KNK (Michele)

I am the proud mother of 2 grown children, waiting for grandchildren some day. I've been married to my best friend since 1988. I have been crafting since I was a girl - I can't even remember a time when I wasn't creating something, and I've tried nearly everything. I discovered KNK in 2009 and have loved the company and its products ever since. The machines are so versatile and enhance my own creativity. It is rare that I make something without my KNKs.

  1. Angie did a lovely job. The daisies especially capture the feel of the real flowers.
