Hello fellow KnK-ers!

Today I thought I’d do something a little different and make some bookmarks. I was thinking that it would be really cute to make personalised ones for children with their names on. That’s the great thing about having a cutting mchine, no matter how unique our child’s name is, we can make personalised items to make them feel special. You will find the cut files I used for today’s project at the end of this post 🙂

These are the Materials I used:

These are the Zing Settings I used:

  • Blade = Standard
  • Blade Height = 25 post-it notes
  • Offset = 0.30
  • Speed = 10
  • Force =  80 paper/100 card
  • Passes = 1

The bookmark is made up of 4 layers to add some rigidity and for a contrasting edge, I chose a bright spring green. You will find little reinforcing rings in the file to add around the ribbon hole to strengthen them. I glued all of the pieces directly on top of each other to keep the bookmark as flat as possible so it doesn’t add bulk to the book you are reading.

How about adding a pocket to a greetings card to slide a personalised bookmark inside. A card and gift all in one 😉

  1. Thanks for sharing. My 5 year old granddaughter saw my bookmark and had to have one of her own. I gave her a generic one that I had laying around but it is on my to do list to make her a special bookmark.

  2. Thank you. I just spent 3 months with my grandkids and they read a lot but use any piece of paper they can find to mark their places. These will be very cute.

  3. Oh, Bird, I love these. I’m going to cut a pile for my grand kids and friends. Thank you so much.

Could I just ask the proper length and width of this bookmark, as when I opened it into Canvas it said the size was reduced to fit page? Thank so much ….. x

    • I cut mine as big as they would fit across my sheet of a4 which was about 8 inches but you can cut them any size you like 🙂
