A fun New Tile

I have made a lot of monogrammed tiles with the family name as gifts but quite often I have people say that they are a blended family, or not married but have children, etc, and wish they could have a personalized tile. A customer recently asked if I could come up with a tile that would work for her family. She was married, had  children, but her husband was not the father of the children. Then she helped me design this tile.

She wanted a darker tile and wanted the word Family in lime green. I made a second tile for another family using a lighter tile and Red for the word Family.

When I designed the tile I put small rectangles around the word family. I then cut all of the black and cut the rectangles. Then I cut the green and cut the rectangles. I then lifted the black using transfer tape and once it was lifted set it on top of the word Family making sure that I set the black rectangles on top of the green rectangles. Then I lifted the green and placed the whole works on the tile. It was very simple to do using that method.

The fonts used are Robo Passion Conflict for “Together” and Centsb for “we make a” . The word Family was borrowed from a different file, and the names are from a purchased font called Lavender Script. All of the font chosen cut very well using my Klic n Kut Maxx and are also fonts that tend to weed well.

Tiles make such nice gifts and I think they are fun to make!
