Valentine’s Day Card

Hi there fellow KnK-ers!

As Valentine’s Day is approximately 6 weeks away, I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day Card with you today. It is a Z-Fold Card which has a lace-y edged heart and a choice of 2 sentiments, the cut file is available at the end of this post 🙂

Here is the card I will be making today:

Materials:

Settings:

  • Blade = Standard
  • Blade Height = 25 post-it notes
  • Offset = 0.30
  • Speed = 10
  • Force = 70
  • Passes = 1

Pic 1. Here are all of the pieces needed for today’s card, I sized them in Make the Cut to produce a 5.5 inch square card and cut them with my Zing:

Pic 2. Using Double Sided Tape, I adhered my largest heart piece and the layer for the inside of my card directly to the card base:

Pic 3. Next, the patterned paper pieces are adhered using more tape:

Pic 4. Moving on to my focal point, I glued the smaller heart to the lace-y edged heart and glued my 2 sentiment pieces together. The wet glue allows a little extra time for wiggle room:

Pic 5. I placed some 3d foam pads behind the letters on my sentiment piece and mounted it onto the lace-y heart panel:

Pic 6. Once the focal point is finished, it can be adhered to the card with more 3d foam pads:

Pic 7. Now that all of the pieces are in place, the card can be folded along the perforated lines. The center line is a valley fold as normal, the line running through the heart is a mountain fold which creates the Z shape:

Valentine Kiss as Sweet as a Rose

Aaaah, yes, love is in the air and I was so distracted with the thought of roses and sweet kisses that I forgot to post this!!! So without further delay, here it is!!! Just in time for your special Valentine! First, let’s get the how to’s over with so we can get to the good part – what’s inside!!! I used my honey of a MAXX and card stock for the rose and heart and paper for the calix (the green part outside the rose). I used two passes on the card stock and one on the paper. The force was 100 w/a speed of 350. This tiny rose is a perfect favor for your honey. If you’re a little shy and have been pining over that cutie but didn’t know how to approach them or even what to say. Here’s a memorable way to do just that. Walk up to that person, smile, bat your eyes and ask them if they’d like a kiss. Then, before you chicken out, hand them this sweet treat. Feeling a little bolder, tuck a little message inside the bud with the candy and hope that cupid works his magic. Hey, it couldn’t hurt! LOL Have a rosey sweet Valentine’s Day filled with kisses!
