It Rocks!

In Wisconsin many communities have “rock” related Facebook pages such as Shawano Rocks or The Fox Valley rocks. The idea behind the pages is for people to decorate small rocks and to place them around the community for others to find . Once you find a rock you can hide it again or keep it. My 6 year old great niece, Olivia, loves finding and keeping them.

I found a bag of dark washed rocks at the dollar store and decided to get them. My intention was to let the little ones decorate them and hide them. But as they sat in my craft room waiting for their journey to the children, I couldn’t resist and decided to decorate some of them.

I had a scrap of turquoise glitter vinyl that I thought would really pop on the dark rocks. The scrap was only about 4×6  but I was able to do the rocks and have some left. I used clear transfer tape to transfer them on to the rocks. I can’t wait to give them to Olivia to hide and she can decorate the rest of the rocks!
